ABOUT THE AUTHOR
James Brown loves stories.
His favourites include Robert Westall, Alan Garner, Lloyd Alexander and Ursula le Guin.
One of his most abiding memories is of a group of young adults in English class being held spellbound by the conclusion of Robert Cormier's 'The Chocolate War'. As Archie Costello uncurled his fist to reveal the colour of the second marble there came an audible gasp - and that's the power of a good story!
James won the Creative Writing Cup at school, studied English Literature at university, and taught English both at home and abroad. He lives in Bristol, England.
When not writing, hiking, practising martial arts or taking care of the garden, you will most likely find him with a good book.
